What We Help You With

Everything You Need to Go Independent — Done Right

This isn't a template pack you download and figure out yourself. We work through every step with you — from structure and setup to your first paid client.

Choosing the right pathway

Registered or unregistered? Sole trader or company? We help you understand exactly what each option means — the pros, the cons, the costs, and the timeline — so you make the right call for your situation, not someone else's template advice.

Setting up your business correctly

ABN registration, business name, bank accounts, insurance, and a complete compliance documentation package — all tailored to how you plan to operate. We handle the details so you don't miss anything that matters.

Finding your first clients

The NDIS runs on referrals — not job boards. We show you exactly how to connect with support coordinators, get listed in the right places, and build the relationships that bring you consistent participants without relying on paid advertising or cold outreach.

Staying compliant from day one

Service agreements, progress notes, incident reporting, privacy forms — we give you the templates and train you on how to use them. You'll know what you need, when you need it, and how to do it properly. No compliance anxiety, no cutting corners.

Building for what comes next

We don't just help you start — we help you think ahead. Whether that means growing your client base, hiring a worker to support you, or eventually registering with the NDIS, we build your setup so the next step is always possible.

Pricing your services with confidence

The NDIS Price Guide sets limits on what you can charge — and most new independents either undercharge or breach the rules without realising it. We train you on how to invoice correctly, how to set your rates, and how to communicate your pricing to participants and coordinators.

Common Questions

What Independent Support Workers
Ask Us Most

Do I need NDIS registration to work as an independent support worker?
No — and this is one of the most common misconceptions. Unregistered sole traders can work with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants without going through registration. This covers the majority of the market. Registration becomes necessary if you want to work with agency-managed participants or deliver certain regulated support types. We'll help you understand exactly which category you fall into.
What qualifications do I need to work independently?
It depends on what supports you deliver. For most personal care and community access supports, a Certificate III in Individual Support is the baseline alongside an NDIS Worker Screening Check. Some support types require higher qualifications. We'll map this out for your specific services during our strategy call so there are no surprises.
How do I actually find participants when I'm starting out?
The NDIS ecosystem runs on referrals — not job boards. The most effective way to find clients as an independent support worker is through support coordinators, local allied health providers, and participant community networks. Our client acquisition training walks you through exactly how to build these relationships and generate your first bookings — without paid advertising or cold outreach.
How quickly can I start earning once I begin the process?
Most of our clients are set up and invoicing their first participants within 4–6 weeks. The timeline depends on how quickly you complete the setup steps and how actively you pursue your first clients. The process is designed to move efficiently — you won't be waiting months before you can start.
Can I register with the NDIS later if I start unregistered?
Absolutely — and for many people, this is actually the smarter path. Starting unregistered lets you build your client base, validate your business, and start earning much faster. Once you're established and want to access agency-managed participants or higher-funded support types, we can guide you through registration at that point.
